These Ukeleles will be purchased for use in our Elementary and High School music program.
Music was a huge part of my life growing up and it still is now as I play guitar for worship time in our Bible classes and youth group. Music is a beautiful gift that you get to keep for the rest of your life. I am so thankful for the opportunities I was given as a child to learn music. For that reason I am trying to make more opportunities available for our elementary students. In 1st-3rd grade our students learn to play Melodicas. We have a set of 20. These are mini keyboards that you blow air into through a tube to create the sound.
In 4th-6th I wanted the students to learn the ukulele. The strings are much gentler on little fingers but the skills are very similar to guitar.
Each ukulele is $30 to purchase here in Guatemala. These ukuleles will be continued to be used for many years to come and be shared among 120 4th-6th graders each year and 40 High Schoolers.
